About Us

OKO was founded in 2016 by sisters Abbie Boatwright and Katie Frankum with a simple vision: to create beautiful, timeless clothing with purpose behind every piece. Shortly after launching the brand, their mother, Vicki Steelman, joined the business, making OKO a true family endeavor from the very beginning.
Inspired by years of connection to the Dominican Republic through their family's nonprofit work, the three women saw an opportunity to create a brand that combined thoughtful design with meaningful impact. What started as a shared dream quickly grew into a company rooted in faith, family, and intentional craftsmanship.
Today, every OKO collection is designed in our Florida studio and hand-cut and sewn in the Dominican Republic by skilled artisans. By manufacturing our garments there, we are able to provide meaningful employment opportunities while maintaining the quality, craftsmanship, and attention to detail that define our brand.
We believe clothing should feel effortless, versatile, and timeless—pieces that can be worn season after season and loved for years tocome. We carefully select fabrics and create silhouettes that offer both comfort and confidence for everyday life.
One of the most important parts of our design process is listening. Many of our collections are shaped by the feedback we receive from our customers. We pay attention to what people are looking for, how they wear our pieces, and what would make their wardrobes work better. Those conversations continue to inspire new designs and thoughtful improvements each season.
While our collections have grown over the years, our mission remains unchanged. We are committed to creating clothing with intention, building lasting relationships with our customers, and operating a business rooted in faith, gratitude, and purpose.
Thank you for being part of the OKO story. We are honored to create pieces that become part of yours.
With gratitude,
Abbie, Katie & Vicki
